ABSTRAK
Augmented reality merupakan suatu teknologi yang dapat memberikan visualisasi
berupa model 3D. Dengan pemanfaatan teknologi augmented reality maka pemodelan
melalui gambar terhadap Sultan Deli Istana Maimun dapat diterapkan untuk
merestorasi foto Sultan Deli ke dalam model tiga dimensi. Hal ini disebabkan Sultan
Deli yang merupakan salah satu tokoh penting dalam sejarah perkembangan kota
Medan kurang dikenal oleh masyarakat. Penyampaian sejarah Kesultanan Deli hanya
melalui dua dimensi seperti foto dan arsip lainnya. Foto yang menunjukkan Sultan
Deli yang pernah berkuasa di Istana Maimun sudah tidak jelas dan berwarna
hitam-putih. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan penyampaian baru dalam bentuk model 3D agar
Sultan Deli dapat ditunjukkan dengan lebih detail. Pembangunan aplikasi Augmented
Reality Sultan Deli bertujuan untuk menampilkan model Sultan Deli dalam bentuk
tiga dimensi secara detail beserta pakaiannya. Metode yang diajukan pada penelitian
ini adalah metode marker based tracking untuk menampilkan model 3D dengan cara
pendeteksian sebuah marker. Aplikasi ini juga memiliki fitur kamera yang
memungkinkan pengunjung berfoto dengan model Sultan Deli tersebut. Hasil
pengujian aplikasi ini menunjukkan bahwa metode yang diajukan mampu melakukan
pendeteksian marker dengan jarak 20-60 cm dan menampilkan model Sultan Deli
pada semua smartphone berbasis android. Output yang dihasilkan dari metode ini
adalah foto pengunjung Istana Maimun dengan model 3D Sultan Deli sehingga
memberi kemudahan bagi masyarakat untuk mengenali Sultan Deli yang pernah
berkuasa di Istana Maimun.

AUGMENTED REALITY OF SULTAN DELI IN ISTANA MAIMUN
ABSTRACT
Augmented reality is a technology that can provide visualization of 3D models. Based from that technology, the modeling from a picture of Sultan Deli Istana Maimun can be applied to restore photos Sultan Deli into a three-dimensional model. This is due to Sultan Deli which is one of the important figures in the history of Medan city known less by the public. Submission of Deli Sultanate history only through such two-dimensional images and other archives. The photo shows the Sultan of Deli ever ruling in Istana Maimun is not clear and black and white. Therefore, it needed a new technique to form of 3D models that the Sultan Deli can be shown in more detail.
Project of Augmented Reality applications of Sultan Deli aims to showcase the model Sultan Deli in three dimensions in detail as well as clothes. The method proposed in
this research is a marker-based tracking method for displaying a 3D model by marker. This application also has a camera feature that allows visitors to take pictures with the Sultan Deli models. The result shows that the proposed method is able to detect the marker with a distance of 20-60 cm and a display model of the Sultan Deli on all smartphone based android. The output from this method is Istana Maimun visitor can photos with 3D models Sultan Deli that making it easier for people to recognize the Sultan Deli ever ruled in Istana Maimun.
