ABSTRAK
Makanan cepat saji pola Barat (fast food) adalah jenis makanan yang mudah disajikan, praktis dan umumnya diproduksi oleh industri pengolahan pangan dengan teknologi tinggi dan memberikan berbagai zat aditif untuk mengawetkan dan memberikan cita rasa bagi produk tersebut. Ketidakseimbangan zat gizi dalam tubuh dapat terjadi jika fast food dijadikan sebagai pola makan harian, sehingga dapat menimbulkan berbagai penyakit degeneratif.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana gambaran indeks massa tubuh (IMT) dan kebiasaan mengonsumsi fast food pola barat pada remaja.
Penelitian deskriptif dengan desain cross sectional study dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 66 responden. Sampel diambil dengan cara simple random
sampling, yaitu mengambil sampel secara acak atau undian sampai memenuhi
jumlah sampel yang diinginkan. Variabel yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah IMT, frekuensi konsumsi fast food, dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kebiasaan remaja dalam mengonsumsi fast food pola barat.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar remaja yang mengonsumsi fast food dalam penelitian ini memiliki IMT normal sebesar 71,2%, berat badan berlebih sebesar 19,7% dan obesitas sebesar 7,6%.
Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah konsumsi fast food bukanlah prediktor utama yang mempengaruhi peningkatan IMT pada remaja.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini disarankan perlunya pendekatan serta konseling kepada pelajar mengenai dampak dari konsumsi fast food yang berlebihan sehingga dapat mengurangi dan menggantinya dengan berbagai jenis makanan yang lebih sehat dan bergizi.

ABSTRACT
Western fast food is a type of food that is easy to prepare, practical and generally produced by the food processing industry with high technology and provide a various of additives to preserve and provide flavor to the product. The imbalance of nutrients in the body can occur if the fast food used as a daily diet, which can cause a variety of degenerative diseases. This study aimed to determine how the overview of the body mass index (BMI) and eating behavior of western fast food in adolescents.
Descriptive study with a cross-sectional study design with the total sample of 66 respondents. Samples were selected by simple random sampling, by taking a random sample or a sweepstakes to provide the required number of samples. The variables measured in this study were BMI, frequency of fast food consumption, and the influence factors of eating behavior of western fast food in adolescents.
The results showed that the majority of teenagers who consume fast food have a normal BMI (71,2 %), overweight by 19,7% and obesity by 7,6 %.
The conclusion of this study is the consumption of fast food is not the main predictors that influence the increase of BMI in adolescents.
Based on the results, it is suggested the need for approach and counseling to students on the effects of excessive consumption of western fast food so can reduce and replace it with a various of healthier and nutrious foods.
