ABSTRACT
This research aims to look at the perception of teaching competence of teachers and parental social support as a predictors of motivation to learn. This research was conducted in 70 students SMP N 7 Salatiga. The author uses multiple regression method as a method of data analysis. The measurement of perception of teaching competence of teachers using 3 aspects, namely the ability of drafting plans, implement learning ability and ability to conduct the evaluation of learning. Parents using social support measurement 6 aspects of Attachment, Social integration, Reasurance of worth, Reliable alliance, Guidance, and Opportunity for nur turance. While the measurement of learning motivation using the 5 aspects namely Learning strategie, Self Efficacy, Intrinsic Value, Test Anxiety, and Lack of Learning Self Regulation. This research suggests that the perception of teaching competence of teachers and social support of parents is a predictor of students learning motivation at SMPN 7 Salatiga.

ABSTRAKSI
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat persepsi terhadap kompetensi mengajar guru dan dukungan sosial orangtua sebagai prediktor motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 70 siswa SMPN 7 Salatiga. Penulis menggunakan metode regresi berganda sebagai metode analisis data. Pengukuran persepsi terhadap kompetensi mengajar guru menggunakan 3 aspek yaitu kemampuan menyusun rencana, kemampuan melaksanakan pembelajaran dan kemampuan mengadakan evaluasi pembelajaran. Pengukuran dukungan social orangtua menggunakan 6 aspek yaitu
Attachment, Social integration, Reasurance of Worth, Reliable Alliance, Guidance, dan Opportunity for Nurturance. Sedangkan pengukuran motivasi belajar menggunakan 5 aspek yaitu Learning strategie, Self Efficacy, Intrinsic Value, Test Anxiety, dan Lack of Learning Self Regulation. Penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa persepsi terhadap kompetensi mengajar guru dan dukungan sosial orangtua dapat dijadikan sebagai prediktor motivasi belajar siswa SMPN 7 Salatiga.
