This was the annual joint meeting between the Foundation's National Board and the national FFA officers with the Foundation's Sponsoring Com-. After a few seasons, it was discovered that the house duck nests in a hollow tree trunk. Old Quaker laid 17 eggs and dutifully sat on them beyond the prescribed incubation time. Heading for the river, he managed to get up but was unable to gain enough height to clear the embankment and crashed.
It also limps a lot as it traverses the trees and trunks in search of insects. When he was deemed cured, he quickly resumed his duties as a pond mascot and insect exterminator. Old Quacker continues to remember the dangers of his dangerous profession and keeps a close eye on the movements of the logs.

The implement show, one of the largest of its kind in California, was conceived by the Livingston FFA as an educational and community service project. Initially, the plan was simply to get dealers of agricultural machinery and equipment to bring their "goods" to the school grounds, and in one day garden. Starting with the original idea of an implement display, the chapter added a tractor rodeo, an "idea" show, afarm and a free bean feed.
Each member of the chapter gets involved in such committees as advertising, "idea" show, the farm, exhibitor relations, physical. Agriculture in the area is very diversified and therefore brings a wide range of agricultural equipment to the high school sports fields. Safety committee members meet with high school principal and other school officials to discuss all phases of school safety and how FFA members can help. Dave is a senior, a member of the school choir, drama club, and is on the varsity golf club. The main goal of the exchange program is to give a city or urban student (preferably a junior or senior) a chance to stay with a farm family and attend school for a week.
