Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, as on collaborating knowledge partner

with

Department

of

Land Resources

in

a World Bank aided

Rejuvenating Watershed for Agriculture

Resilience

through Innovative

Development (REWARD) programme, proposes to higher one Research Associate (Agriculture) for World Bank aided REWARD Programme on contract basis.

It

also proposes to hire two Young Professional one each in IT/ICT and Agriculture

&

Horticulture disciplines, for itselfon contract basis.

2. Details of Research Associate (Asriculture) (One Position)

The objective

of

the REWARD programme

is to

strengthen capacities

of

national and state

institutions to adopt improved watershed management for increasing farmers' resilience and support value chains in selected watersheds

of

participating states. The programme intends to use a scientific

&

data driven approach to watershed development planning and monitoring

&

maintenance, using RS, GIS and mapping tools integrated into

a

system

of

Land Resources Interventions and

a

data portal,

to

build decision Support Systems for developing location specific soil and water conservation plans, nutrient and water management etc.

intends to build stronger technical and management capacities at national, state and local

to

apply these approaches and technologies

in

watershed development

in

the country. The project has

wo

result area (RA) viz.,

(i)

Strengthened Institutions and Supportive Policy

for

Watershed Development, and

(ii)

Scientific-based llatershed Development

for

Climate Resilience and Enhanced Livelihoods.

The lesson learnt from the programme is expected

in

up scaling

of

science-based approach to other states in the country,

Similarly,

it is

proposed

to

engage one Young Professional

NRAA.

4. Remuneration for the nositions

In

order

to

execute

the

programme,

NRAA

invites applications

from willing

and eligible individuals

for

engagement on contract basis

on

fixed remuneration

in

the range

of

Rs. 50,000/ to 70,000/-

per

month depending upon educational qualifications and experience.

In

case

of

retired

government officials, the monthly remuneration shall be calculated by deducting basic pension from basic pay drawn by him/her at the time

of

retirement. In addition the retired govt. official

will

also be paid Transport Allowance per month

not

exceeding the rate applicable

to

the appointee

at

the time

of

retirement.

5. I)uration of the oositions

The initial term of contract shall be initially for a period ofone year from the date of engagement

or

until further orders, whichever

is

earlier. Subsequent extension (s)

or

curtailment,

if

any, shall be decided on case to case basis depending upon requirement and performance. These appointments would be on full-time basis and they would not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the period oftheir engagement in the said programme.

6. Declaration of Secrecv

All

contractual professionals engaged

will

be required

to

furnish oath

of

secrecy

in

prescribed format at the time

of

reporting

for

the engagement. The professionals may not publish a book or a compilation of articles or participate in a radio broadcast or contribute an article or write a |etter to any newspaper or periodical, either in his/her own name or anonymously or pseudonymous in the name of any other pirson,

if

such book, article, broadcast, uses any information that he/she may gather as part of this

"onruituncy, without the prior approval of NRAA"/DoLR. During the period of assignment with NRAA, all such conhactual professionals

will

be subject to the provisions ofthe Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923 and

will

not divulge any information gathered by her/him to anyone who is not authorized to know / have the same. The professionals engaged by

NRAA

shall in no case represent or give opinion or advice to others in any manner which is adverse to the interest

ofNRAA

or the Covernment oflndia.

7.

Lopistics and SuDDort

The persons so engaged would be provided working space and other necessities as deemed

fit,

to discharge their duties and functions.

8. Ase-Limit

(i)

Normally, the maximum age

limit

for the position of Research Associate (Agriculture)

will

be not exceeding 65 years.

(ii)

Normally, the maximum age

limit for

Young Professionals

will

be 35 years. This is relaxable further in respect ofpersons belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PWD and expertise on the subject.

NRAA will form a National Consortium with

NRAA will

establish a

PMIJ with

professional expertise

in

specific subject domains

to

coordinate among consortium partners and anchor the

overall

process

of

developing National technical standards

for

improved watershed management. The

PMU will

provide necessary administrative, technical and financial support to

the

Consortium partners

on

a

periodic

basis

during

the course

of

the

project. The PMU

along

with

Consortium Partners

will

be responsible
