GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Lk. 7:31-35) The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke
31 "To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and what are they like? 32 They are like children sitting in the market place and calling to one another, `We piped to you, and you did not dance; we wailed, and you did not weep.' 33 For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine; and you say, `He has a demon.' 34 The Son of man has come eating and drinking; and you say, `Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' 35 Yet wisdom is justified by all her children."
REFLECTION:
What can make us spiritually dull and slow to hear God's voice? Like the generation of Jesus' time, our age is marked by indifference and contempt, especially in regards to the message of God's kingdom. Indifference dulls our ears to God's voice and to the good news of the Gospel. Only the humble of heart who are hungry for God can find true joy and happiness. Do you listen to God's word with expectant faith and the willingness to trust and obey?
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, open my ears to hear the good news of your kingdom and set my heart free to love and serve you joyfully.
Amen.
FROM THE OVCAR – LASALLIANS4PEACE COMMITTEE:
Peace Info Bits:
This year, the International Day of Peace will focus on engaging and mobilizing people throughout the world to show support for refugees and migrants. Its messages will be shared with communities hosting refugees and migrants as well as people concerned that refugees and migrants may bring physical and economic insecurity to their lives.
The Day will highlight solidarity with refugees and migrants and showcase the shared benefits of migration to economies and nations, while also acknowledging legitimate concerns of host communities. Ultimately, it will be about bringing people together and reminding them of their common humanity.
Young people will have a vital role to play. For example, they can volunteer to welcome and help refugees and migrants in their communities. They can also extend the hand of friendship to young refugees and migrants who they might meet in their classrooms and neighbourhoods.

NATIONAL EPILEPSY AWARENESS MONTH Cont…Epilepsy
Don't put anything in their mouth. Contrary to popular myth, you can't swallow your tongue during a seizure. But putting something in their mouth could damage their teeth, or they might bite you. If their head isn't moving, turn it to one side.
Look at your watch at the start of the seizure, so you can time its length. Remember, this probably isn't an emergency, although it may look like one.
After the jerking stops, gently place them on their side, to help keep their airway clear.
For milder seizures, like a bit of staring or shaking arms or legs, guide the person away from hazards, including traffic, stairs, and water.
Don't leave someone who's had a seizure alone. Stay until they're fully aware of where they are and can respond normally when you talk to them. Speak calmly. Reassure them and explain what they missed if they're confused or frightened. Don't give them anything to drink or eat until they've completely recovered.
Get medical help when:
• It's a child's first seizure.
• The seizure lasts longer than 5 minutes.
• Another seizure begins soon after the first.
• The person doesn't "wake up" after the movements have stopped.
• The person was injured during the seizure.
If you're concerned that something else may be wrong, or the person has another medical condition such as heart disease or diabetes, call a doctor.
