Communication from the DLSAU Board of Trustees

Call for Nominations for the Next DLSAU President

April 14, 2021

The DLSAU Board of Trustees requested that the following information be published and disseminated to the members of the DLSAU community:

The resignation of Dr. Bjorn S. Santos from De La Salle Araneta University, effective 31 May 2021, and his taking of his vacation and sick leave credits from 15 April 2021 to 31 May 2021.

The appointment of Mr. Christopher N. Polanco, DLSAU Chancellor, concurrently as Officer in Charge of De La Salle Araneta University, from 15 April 2021 to 31 May 2021.

The Search Committee is calling for nominations from the faculty, non-teaching staff,

administrators, alumni, and other stakeholders, for the next President of De La Salle Araneta University.

1. He must be a De La Salle Brother, unless waived by the Br Visitor to a Lasallian partner;

2. He should have an earned doctorate degree;

3. He should possess the ability to lead and effectively manage De La Salle Araneta

University to develop into a world class university and to promote the Lasallian Mission without boundaries - a CEO who will grow the university towards excellence in teaching, research, and extension;

4. He should be a practicing Catholic;

5. He should have a strong conviction of faith in God, social justice, peace and integrity of creation;

6. He should have a liberal outlook: open to new ideas but at the same time, respectful of tradition and existing realities;

7. He should embody the ideals of true nationalism: be a true Filipino, yet a citizen of the world;

8. He should have a heart for the young especially the poor;

9. He should possess good skills in interpersonal relationships, be an animator, a visionary, a good listener, possess the potential to raise funds for DLSAU and the capacity to manage conflict; and

10. He is able to chart and navigate academic challenges for DLSAU.

Please submit your nomination letter to Dr. Carmelita I. Quebengco AFSC via email at [email protected]. The letter should state the reason/justification for the nomination.

Kindly note that the deadline for the submission of nominees is on Monday, 26 April 2021.
