測量的認知階層分數範圍較粗略且侷限,且 無法區辨或突顯同一認知階層患者認知功能 的部分差異或變化,缺乏敏感性,以致有其 他衍生版本,分別是Allen Cognitive Level Screen-Extended (ACL-E)、Allen Cognitive Level Screen-Problem Solving (ACL-PS)、
Large Allen Cognitive Level Test (LACL)及 LCL (Low Cognitive Level Test)。

Allen Cognitive Level Test-90 (ACL-90)
Allen (1990) 檢測ACLs分數 3.0-5.8,共25個認知階層分 數。分數越高代表患者認知階層越高。認知 階層1、2的患者無法嘗試操作物件,認知階 層6須提供象徵性的線索,故不在ACL-90評 量範圍內。

Allen Cognitive Level Screen (ACLS)
Allen (1996) 檢測ACLs分數 3.0-5.8,共15個認知階層分 數,簡化評分標準。施測內容為執行三個不 同困難程度的皮革縫法:平縫、鎖縫、點纏 縫。受測者必須觀察並複製施測者示範的皮 革縫法,施測過程中施測者會故意犯錯,施 測者會要求受測者指出錯誤,並予以修正。
評分則取決於受測者縫合中是否存在錯誤,
是否有糾正錯誤的能力,以及是否能在沒有
