Master of Engineering Management – Department of Civil & Construction Engineering
1. Requirements for Applying to the Program
Procedure for applying to the program shall be in accordance with the university registration office. This information is made available on the university website
“www.iau.edu.sa”. However, some of the specific application requirements for the program are submission of the following documents:
• Official transcript from each college/university attended.
• Two-page resume
• Two recommendation letters from two of the job supervisors.
• One-page Statement of Purpose outlining reasons for pursuing the chosen program.
2. Requirements for Admission to the Program
Admission to the program requires fulfilling the following requirements;
• Applicant should have obtained a baccalaureate degree in any engineering discipline with a cumulative grade of 3.50 /5.0 and or in accordance with Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University rules and regulations.
o The applicant should have taken at least one year of math and basic science (basic science includes the biological, chemical, or physical sciences), as well as at least one-and-one-half years of engineering topics and a major design experience.
• Applicants with baccalaureate degrees (engineering) that did not fully meet the above the requirements may be directed by the supervisor or program coordinator and concerned department council to take extra course(s) from department undergraduate program to cover areas of deficiency. The extra credit will not be counted as part of the total credit required for program completion.
• Applicant should pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 500 (paper-based), or a total score of 80 with a score of at least 20 on each of the individual skill areas (internet-based) or academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with minimum overall band score of 5.0.
• Conditional Admission: For applicant who does not have TOEFL / IELTS score, it is possible to have a conditional admission with maximum six months to fulfill the TOEFL / IELTS requirements.
