SUMMARY

The article shows studied results on detcmiining wood density (WD, g/cm») of major species in oiptcroca^orest, tests, groups togeUier species with the same WD and determines the relationship between WD and forest survey factors. The results shpw that the WD values pf 12 majpr species in d^pterocarp fores, varied itpm 0,501 - 0,759 g/em>, prpving high carbpn accumulatipn ability pfUiem Major species WD were classilied mto three groups with the average values as: 0,517- 0 620- 0 750 g/em and the distance between the groups is Kd = 0,076g/cm'. On Uie pther hand, the relation'ship tp identify WD. In conclusion, the species WD could be detennined by WD's average value pf all die species, however if higher precision is required, WD of species group could be used. WD combined widi vo umc models (the rclaupnship with fprest survey factors) provide sufBeiem fpundatipn fpr converting volume to biomass and earbon accumulatipn.
