Morri Alexander was the speaker of the evening. He chose as his suhject
•· Coalition in Zionism." Before calling on Mr. Alexander, Dr. Kark (in the chair) expressed on behalf of the gathering the heartiest congratulations on the occasion of Re\. Bender's seventieth birthday. He also welcomed Rev. Rosenberg, of Port Elizabeth- a South African who had trained for the Rabbinical profession in London.
\fr. Alexander began his address by de- fining the word coalition. He pointed out that though the world looked upon Je,uy as united this was far from being the case.

On Saturday evening, 15th April, a mo-t successful Pe ach entertainment was held in the Zionist Hall. There was not too large an audience present, but those who were there spent an enjoyable evening.
The programme consisted chiefly of a
" Living ewspaper ," during which papers and articles in connection with Pesach were read by variou members of the Society.
\Tr. S. l\I. LeYin read out two very interest- ing articles, one on the Blood Libel and the other an appreciation of Mose by Ahad Ha-am.
During the course of the evening, Mr. H.
Zuckerm.:m delivered an inspiring address on the significance of Pesach, drawing ex- treme! y c1 ear paralle 1 s heh\ een the position of our forefathers in Egypt and the sad lot of our brethren in Germany to-day.
An excellent evening's entertainment \\'as
brought to a filling close by Lhe singing of

The Hora was alrn danced with much gusto and enthusiasm, and the meeting was afterwards closed \\ith the singing of the f Iatikvah.

4 ozs. Castor Sugar.
1 Egg Yolk.
~ Teaspoonful Baking Powder.
Cream together the sugar and butter.
Then beat in the egg yolk. Gradually add MAIZEKO, flour and bakir g powder and knead thoroughly.
Turn out on a floured board making into any shape desired. Bake m a dow oven from 20 to 30 minutes. Cool on wire tray.
