V. SIMPULAN DAN SARAN
5.2. Saran
(1)Faktor kerawanan habitat harus mendapat perhatian dari pengelola karena menjadi ancaman utama kepunahan lokal macan tutul jawa. Ancaman terhadap kerawanan yang perlu ditangani adalah perambahan kawasan, penebangan liar dan kegiatan tumpang sari atau PHBM yang terus-menerus pada segala kelas umur tanaman. (2) Non Equilibrium metapopulation perlu mendapat perhatian khusus dari pengelola
karena memiliki resiko kepunahan lokal jangka pendek yang tinggi akibat tidak ada konektifitas antar populasi (terisolasi). Salah satu tindakan yang perlu dilakukan adalah membuat koridor antar populasi.
(3)Di lansekap hutan produksi perlu dibuat kantong-kantong hutan yang tidak dieksploitasi sebagai perlindungan atau pengungsian satwa jika hutan produksi di sekitarnya dieksploitasi.
(4)Model spasial kesesuaian habitat sebaiknya dijadikan pertimbangan dan landasan dalam upaya konservasi macan tutul jawa, khususnya di hutan-hutan produksi yang dikelola oleh Perum Perhutani dengan cara menetapkan lokasi macan tutul dan kantong habitat yang memiliki kesesuaian tinggi ditetapkan sebagai HCVF.
(5)Kawasan Gunung Slamet sebagai ”mainland” pusat keanekaragaman hayati, khususnya macan tutul jawa perlu dipertimbangkan untuk ditetapkan sebagai kawasan konservasi agar dapat menjamin kelestarian macan tutul jawa dan keanekaragaman hayati lainnya.
(6)Penelitian yang sama perlu dilakukan di Provinsi Jawa Barat, Jawa Timur dan Banten sebagai dasar pengelolaan konservasi macan tutul jawa di provinsi tersebut.
