SHORT FUNCTIONAL TEXT

A.

Short Functional text adalah teks singkat yang memiliki arti dan tujuan tertentu. Anda tentunya sudah membaca iklan di surat kabar atau majalah, pengumuman yang ditempelkan di dinding kantor, sekolah,

dsb. Itu merupakan sebagian contoh short functional texts. Short functional text umumnya memerlu-

kan media khusus dalam penyampaiannya.

Di antara bentuk dari short functional texts adalah Announcement (pengumuman) dan Letter (surat).

ANNOUNCEMENT

Announcement (Pengumuman) adalah jenis informasi lisan atau tertulis. Tujuan pengumuman adalah untuk mengumumkan suatu berita (untuk membuat orang tahu tentang sesuatu). Pengumuman lisan biasanya digunakan di terminal bus, bandara, rumah sakit, atau dalam pelayanan publik. Pengumuman tertulis digunakan di surat kabar, majalah, atau dapat ditempelkan pada papan-papan pengumuman. Pengumuman yang ideal terdiri dari:

• The title of the event. • Address.

• Place.

• Date and time.
