ADOPTION OF DRAFT POLICY FOR THE PAYMENT OF EXPENSES AND PROVISION OF FACILITIES TO MAYOR AND COUNCILLORS

The Hills Shire Council is considering the adoption of a draft policy on the payment of expenses and provisions of facilities to the Mayor and Councillors.

Public Exhibition Period: Tuesday, 6 September to Friday, 14 October 2016.

PROPOSED TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES –

KENTHURST ROAD, LUKAS AVENUE AND DURAL STREET, KENTHURST In accordance with Section 115 of the Roads Act 1993, it is intended to temporarily close the following roads to vehicle traffic on Sunday, 11 September 2016 from 10.50am–12pm:

• Kenthurst Road, Kenthurst between Jones Road and Nelson Street;

• Lukas Avenue, Kenthurst at the Lukas Avenue and Dural Street intersections;

• Dural Street, Kenthurst.

The purpose of these road closures is to assist with the street parade as part of the annual Kenthurst Fair and Street Parade.

PUBLIC NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF LOCAL POLICY

At its meeting of 23 August 2016, Council adopted an amended Local Approvals Policy. The policy provides exemption and approval criteria for:

• Placing waste storage containers in a public place (skip bins);

• Installing or altering a waste treatment device or a human waste storage facility (onsite sewage management systems);

• Using a standing vehicle or any article for the purpose of selling any article in a public place (mobile food vans and temporary food stalls); and

• Installing a domestic oil or solid fuel heating appliance (wood fire heaters).

TENDER

DESIGN OF ARTERIAL ROAD AND BRIDGE UPGRADES Ref: T17-4

The Hills Shire Council is seeking Tenders from qualified consultants to design upgrades to the arterial road network in and around the Box Hill Precinct. Work includes survey, geotechnical investigations, utility locating, road design, drainage design and bridge design.

There will be a non-mandatory meeting at Council chambers on the ground floor of 3 Columbia Court, Baulkham Hills at 10am on Tuesday, 20 September 2016.

Applications close at 2pm on Tuesday, 4 October 2016.
