Kode ASME B.31
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) merupakan badan
yang diakreditasi oleh American National Standard Institute (ANSI). ASME B.31
bertugas untuk membuat kode dan standar sistem perpipaan yang mengalami
beban tekanan dan melakukan pengembangan terhadap kode yang telah ada
sebelumnya, sehingga dapat mengikuti perkembangan-perkembangan yang
terjadi di bidang konstruksi, meterial dan industri pada umumnya.
ASME B.31 terdiri dari beberapa bagian yang mengatur jenis instalasi
sistem perpipaan tertentu yang dijelaskan sebagai berikut:
