PENGARUH PEMBERIAN TEPUNG LIMBAH JERUK MANIS (Citrus sinensis) DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP KADAR LEMAK DAN KOLESTEROL DAGING PUYUH (Coturnix-coturnix japonica)

Lemak pada unggas sebagian terdapat dalam jaringan adiposa, mengandung sebagian besar fosfolipid, kolesterol, dan gliserol. Kolesterol tubuh berasal dari dua sumber, kolesterol yang diproduksi sendiri oleh tubuh atau disebut kolesterol endogen dan yang berasal dari makanan atau disebut kolesterol eksogen. Limbah jeruk manis mengandung zat bioaktif yaitu pektin, tanin, saponin, minyak atsiri, dan flavonoid. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung limbah jeruk manis dalam ransum terhadap kadar lemak dan kolesterol daging puyuh. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metoda eksperimental menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pada 100 ekor puyuh betina umur 6 minggu yang di bagi ke dalam 5 perlakuan yaitu tepung limbah jeruk manis 0%, 3%, 6%, 9%, 12% dan di ulang sebanyak 4 kali. Hasil penelitian di peroleh pemberian tepung limbah jeruk manis dalam ransum berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) dalam menurunkan kadar lemak daging pada level 3% dan 6% sedangkan pada level 3%, 6%, 9%, dan 12% nyata (P<0,05) menurunkan kadar kolesterol daging. Limbah jeruk manis dapat menurunkan kadar lemak dan kolesterol daging. Kadar lemak dan kolesterol daging terendah yaitu pada level 3% tepung limbah jeruk manis dalam ransum.

Fat is one part that can be found in plant and animal tissues. Fat in poultry partially contained in the adipose tissue, containing mostly phospolipids, cholesterol, and glycerol. Body cholesterol comes from two sources, exogenous cholesterol is produced by the body and endogenous cholesterol comes from food. Sweet orange wastes containing bioactive substances such as pectins, tannins, saponins, atsiri oils, and flavonoids. The research objective is to determine the effect of sweet orange waste powder in ration on meat fat and cholesterol. The research was conducted with an experimental method completely randomized design (CRD) in 100 female quails age 6 weeks. It was divided into 5 treatments with sweet orange waste powder i.e 0%, 3%, 6%, 9%, 12%, and repeat 4 times. The result obtained sweet orange waste powder in ration, made significant (P<0,05) lower meat fat at 3% and 6% level and at 3%, 6%, 9%, and 12% level made significant (P<0,05) lower meat cholesterol. The conclusion is sweet orange waste can reduced meat fat and cholesterol. Lowest fat and cholesterol content of meat at level 3% sweet orange waste.
