UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK METANOL, ETIL ASETAT,
DAN n-HEKSANA DAUN JAMBU AIR (Syzygium aqueum (Burm. F)
ABSTRAK
Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak metanol, etil asetat, dan n-Heksana daun jambu air (Syzygium aqueum (Burm. F) yang diperoleh dengan cara ekstraksi dengan metode maserasi. Berdasarkan skrining fitokimia ekstrak metanol daun jambu air mengandung senyawa golongan flavonoida, saponin, tanin, dan terpenoida. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan melakukan metode difusi agar terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus epidermis dan bakteri Salmonella typhi. Konsentrasi ekstrak metanol, etil asetat, dan n-Heksana yang digunakan terdiri dari 100 mg/ml, 200 mg/ml, 300 mg/ml, 400 mg/ml dan 500 mg/ml. Aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol daun jambu air dengan kategori lebih kuat menghambat bakteri Staphylococcus epidermis dengan konsentrasi 500 mg/ml pada diameter zona hambat 19,20 mm dibandingkan ekstrak etil asetat yang memiliki diameter zona hambat 18,40 mm dan ekstrak n-Heksana yang memiliki zona hambat 15,78 mm.

THE TESTED ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF METHANOL, ETHYL ACETATE, AND n-HEXANE EXTRACT FROM LEAVES OF JAMBU AIR
PLANTS (Syzygium aqueum (Burm. F)
ABSTRACT
The study of antibacterial methanol, ethyl acetate, and n-Hexane extract from Leaves of Jambu Air Plants (Syzygium aqueum (Burm. F) obtained by maceration in method. Based on phytochemical screening methanol extract from the Leaves of Jambu Air Plants contains a class of compounds flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and terpenoida. Testing of antibacterial activity was done by agar diffusion method against Staphylococcus epidermis and the bacterium Salmonella typhi. The concentration of the methanol extract, ethyl acetate and n-hexane used consisted of 100 mg/ml, 200 mg/ml, 300 mg/ml, 400 mg/ml and 500 mg/ml. The antibacterial activity showed that the methanol extract of guava leaves with a more powerful category inhibit Staphylococcus epidermis with a concentration of 500 mg/ml in inhibition zone diameter 19.20 mm compared to the ethyl acetate extract which has a diameter of 18.40 mm zone of inhibition and n-Hexane extracts which have inhibitory zones 15.78 mm.
