The purpose of the research is to find out if the story impression strategy has any influence on the students' teaching of reading comprehension at the tenth grade level at MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban Central Lampung. Story Impression Strategy is a pre-reading writing activity that involves students using key words or concepts from a story to develop their own idea of ​​how those key concepts or words might fit together. This means that there was a positive and significant influence of the story impression strategy in the teaching of reading comprehension at tenth grade in MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban Central Lampung.

Story Impression Strategy adalah strategi yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, khususnya untuk pemahaman bacaan. Story Impression adalah kegiatan menulis pra-baca yang melibatkan siswa menggunakan kata kunci atau konsep dari sebuah cerita untuk mengembangkan ide mereka sendiri tentang bagaimana konsep atau kata kunci itu mungkin cocok satu sama lain. Artinya ada pengaruh positif dan signifikan penggunaan strategi kesan cerita terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa kelas X MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban Lampung Tengah.

In addition, the problems in reading are caused by the limitations of the reading media and the ineffectiveness of the teaching strategy used. Based on the results of the preliminary study, it can be seen that the students' reading ability is illustrated in the table below. The source is the result of a survey conducted on April 15, 2019 among tenth graders of MA walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban Central Lampung in the academic year 2018/2019. Therefore, we can conclude that the reading comprehension of the tenth grade MA walisongo is not satisfactory. In addition, the results of the preliminary survey show that MA Walisongo tenth grade students have limitations in mastering vocabulary and English grammar.

Problem Identification

In order to deal with the problem of reading, it is necessary to introduce an instructional influence strategy into the process of teaching reading. Story impression is a pre-reading activity strategy that develops ideas for ideas found in the story. The impression of a story has tremendous advantages in the process of teaching reading, because students are oriented to the main ideas of the selection before reading.

The students can be activated in class, the students had to find difficult words and they were discussed together.

To describe the reactions of the students to story impression materials used by the teacher in teaching. Enabling teachers to use Story Impression Strategy as an interesting strategy when teaching English in the classroom.

To enable the school to conduct further research on the use of the story impression strategy in students.

Prior Research

The English language skill studied in the first prior research is reading using story impression teaching strategy.1. The research method investigated by the first prior research and this research is quantitative research, while the teaching strategy used in this study is story impression strategy. The difference between this study and the first previous study in the research method, the research sample. The third previous study was conducted by Rina Merli, Ummi Rasyidah and Eripiddin who conducted a study titled “The Effect of a Story Impression Strategy on Narrative Text Reading Comprehension in Second Year Students at SMA Muhammadiyah Rambah”3. The English language proficiency examined in the first previous study is reading comprehension using the teaching strategy for impressions.

The story impression strategy is used as a strategy for teaching reading because it is an effective strategy for teaching reading. First, according to Roberta L. Sejnost, the story impression strategy is similar to the Mind's Eye strategy. In teaching reading, the teacher should know and understand how to use a story impression strategy.

Based on the above statement, we can conclude that the Impression of Storytelling as a Strategy in teaching reading has benefits for teachers. There is a positive and significant influence of using story impression strategy towards students' reading comprehension in the tenth grade of MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban Central Lampung. There is no positive and significant influence of using the story impression strategy towards student's reading comprehension.

Newman, the population is the basic form of existence of organisms and the elementary unit of the evolutionary process.21 The population of this research is the tenth grade of MA Walisongo Bumiratu Nuban Central Lampung especially grade E which consists of 20 students. Gitlin explains that the sample consists of the group of individuals selected for his study. In group sampling, the sample units contain groups of elements rather than individual members or items in the population.

So that every member of the population in this research has the opportunity to become a sample.

The students are able to understand social functions, text structure and linguistic elements in the simple descriptive texts about people, tourist attractions and famous historical buildings, according to the context of their use. Instrument calibration is the scale of measurement used to determine the standard instrument to be used. The validity of a measure is the extent to which it measures what you were supposed to measure.23 The researcher used content validity.

Content validity is about whether the test is sufficiently representative and comprehensive for the test. To get the content validity, the test is adapted to the students' book, English syllabus and materials in school based on MA Wali Songo's tenth grade curriculum. Reliability is based on the idea that there is some degree of uniformity or standardization in what is being measured.24 In other words, it can be said to be a reliable test.

Data Analysis Technique

To investigate whether there is any positive and significant influence of story impression strategy in the teaching of reading comprehension in tenth graders from MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Central Lampung.

Teachers Education in MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban Central Lampung during the academic year. Number of MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban Central Lampung students in the academic year. The result of the pre-examination (experimental class) of the tenth graders of MA Walisongo Bumi ratu Nuban Central Lampung.

So this means that most of the students of MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban Central Lampung got low scores in the pre-test. Frequency distribution as a result (experimental class) of pre-test in X.4 MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban. MA Walisongo Bumi ratu Nuban Central Lampung Grade Ten Pre-Test Result (Control Class).

So it means that most of the students of MA Walisongo Bumi ratu Nuban Central Lampung got a high score in the post-test. The result after the test (control class) in tenth graders of MA Walisongo Bumi ratu Nuban Central Lampung. Ha) is accepted, if there is a positive and significant influence of the story impression strategy in teaching reading comprehension to the tenth graders of MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban Central Lampung.

The score of differences between pre-test and post-test students' reading comprehension in the tenth grade of MA Walisongo. It means that there is any positive and significant impact of story impression strategy on learning reading comprehension in tenth grade students of MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Central Lampung. There is any positive and significant impact of story impression strategy on teaching reading comprehension in the tenth grade of MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban Central Lampung.

There is no positive and significant influence of story impression strategy in the teaching of reading comprehension in tenth graders from MA Walisongo Bumi ratu Nuban Central Lampung.

Limitation

The researcher assumed that teaching and learning by using story impressions as a strategy can influence students' reading comprehension well. By using story impressions as a strategy, the student learns English more easily because the students can easily and effectively remember what they learned by seeing possible sentence strategy. So it has proved that using possible sentence strategy can affect students' reading comprehension than the other method especially for tenth grade students in MA Walisongo.

Furthermore, the result of this research confirmed the effect of possible sentence strategy on student's reading comprehension. This research also clarified that the theory of the effect of using story impression strategy on students' reading comprehension at grade ten of MA Walisongo Bumi Ratu Nuban Central Lampung.

So that the principal should give more facilities to the students so that the students are more excited in learning English.
