INTRODUCTION

Background of the Apprenticeship

Bengal State Polytechnic operates a work placement program that all final semester students are required to follow. Practical practice or better known as "Practice Program" or abbreviated as KP is a series of activities that include the understanding of scientific theories/concepts applied at work according to the field of study. Practical practice is carried out endlessly so that students understand and apply the field of study well.

In addition, so that students can get to know the profession and the working atmosphere in accordance with their study program. Practical work is an infinitely convenient place for students to gain knowledge and work experience. In this program, specifically for International Business Administration students in Semester 7 (seven), internship program activities are conducted for approximately 4 (four) months, by choosing their own place and location for the internship program.

However, before choosing a place to do this program, the internship program coordinator offers several options or options for the internship program to the students. Then, from some of these options the author is interested in doing practical work in the transport sector, namely the company at PT Bengkalis Kuda Laut in Pekanbaru.

Purpose of the Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship time can increase students' knowledge and skills and solve scientific problems in accordance with the theories they are taught in college.

The Chief Operating Officer named Mex Ariyanto is responsible for all operational activities of the company, including the planning process to operational execution. Corporate Secretary Emmanuel is a supporting body of the board of directors who plays an important role in ensuring that the transparency aspect is enforced in the company. The corporate secretary works in the field of internal and external communication, relations with investors and secretarial management of the company.

CEO Zen is in charge of running the company and motivating employees. Plan, implement, coordinate, control and analyze all business activities of the company. To run the company in accordance with the company's vision and mission. A procurement and inventory manager named Welly, who is in charge of purchasing goods or materials needed by the company.

HRD manager named Faradila is responsible for managing the development and training, counseling and assessment (performance and potential assessment) of employees. The Finance Manager named Hellen whose job is not only to oversee the financial management of money, but also to carry out fundraising activities that are not profitable for the company and replace them with more profitable activities. PO is to carry out the process of purchasing the required goods if there are no goods or the stock of goods in the warehouse is empty, so for the process of supplying goods, the purchasing department must carry out the process of making a PO (Purchase) to make order) to be able to supply goods according to the needs of the required request.

MR should carry out the application process which should be provided according to the request for the requested goods. So in this section the Requester must enter the system for the needs and wants that he wants to request, so that it can be further processed by the goods provider (stock section) and if the goods are empty, proceed with the purchase order (YES) process.

Division of Apprenticeship

This week the author is taught how to document purchase order (po) to BKL system information GRN. Learn how to input how to GRN document purchase order (po) to BKL system information. This week there was additional information about the record purchase order documents in the general ledger.

During this week, the work related to the recording of purchase order documents in the general ledger.

Obstacle and Solution

Bengkalis Kuda Laut The author achieved the set goals, namely the author carried out various activities under the instructions of the field supervisor and managed to complete them, and in addition, the author also studied the management information system while carrying out his activities. PT. Bengkalis Kuda Laut, especially the purchasing and supplies department in the real world of work practice. Apart from purchase and stock department, the author also studied the HRD department, maintenance department which is carried out by PT Maintenance Department.

Bengkalis Kuda Laut in Pekanbaru, where the Maintenance department works closely with mechanics to maintain, guide and maintain the quality of the car. In addition, the author gains experience of what the real work world is like, insights, work environment and new skills that can be used later in the work world. When dealing with the world of work in the future, the author concludes that soft skills and hard skills are needed.

The soft skills needed to become competent resources later on are leadership, problem solving, time management, organizational management, critical thinking, teamwork, analytical skills and confidence.
