Study in effect of using municipal solid waste compost in order to increase phosphorus efficiency in calcareous soils

Abstract
Every day more than 7000 tons of municipal solid waste is gathered only in Tehran. Using waste as a municipal waste compost in order to improve the physical and chemical conditions, specially in poor soils of organic matter can make best results.This study was done, for analysing the effect of increasing the municipal waste compost alone, mixture of phosphorus fertilizer (Mixture) and phosphorus fertilizer alone in adsorbing phosphorus in a period of 150 days.These results showed that there is a significant different in amount of phosphorus availability between the different treatments in all times.It also showed that in all soils with increasing time, the amount of extractable phosphorus in chemical fertilizer treatment has a descending process while in compost treatment this amount has been increased.This process reached to the chemical fertilizer mixture in the mean condition of other two other treatments.
