Hier ontvang Shaun sy Blitzboktrui van afrigter, Neill Powell. Hy vertel nederig dat net die feit dat hy in die Blitzbokspan vir Kanada ingesluit is, vir hom oneindig baie beteken.

BRITS POS – BRITS – Suzie Fourie (87), ‘n bekende en geliefde inwoner van Brits is op Dinsdag, 31 Augustus 2021 na ‘n kort siekbed oorlede. Sy is reeds op Saterdag, 11 September 2021 deur ds. Stephan Strydom van die NG Dalunie-gemeente begrawe.
Sy en haar oorlede man, Willie Fourie is op 12 Desember 1953 getroud, waarna hulle hul op De Kroon gevestig het. In 1974 verhuis hulle na Brits toe waar haar man in 1986 oorlede is. Gedurende 2000 verhuis sy na Lysterhof in Brits waar sy tot haar afsterwe gewoon het.
Suzie was veral bekend waar sy en Sophie du Preez by die lisensie- afdeling van Brits Munisipaliteit gewerk het. Die twee kwaai tannies, het presies volgens die reëls gewerk, maar hulle werk geken.
Na haar aftrede het sy by Floret Blommeklub aangesluit waar sy as ere- lid aangewys is. Sy het ook nog gereeld gerangskik tot Covid-19 oorgeneem het.
Suzie word deur haar vyf kinders - Elaine, Sandra, Wilna, Ilze en Wimpie asook 13 kleinkinders en 11 agterkleinkinders oorleef.

Lenie vertel dat dit haar werk by die boerdery was om die tabak te klas en bossies te maak sodat dit reg was om Rustenburg Koöperasie toe te gaan. Haar man was baie verswak na die Tweede Wêreldoorlog in 1945 en sy het by die Mooinooi-poskantoor begin werk waar sy in beheer van die telefoonsentrale was. Sy het op 65-jarige ouderdom afgetree en by haar dogter op Brits kom bly voordat sy na Brits Rusoord verhuis het. Sy vertel laggend dat harde werk en goeie gene die geheim vir haar pragtige ouderdom is én baie hekel! Baie geluk met jou verjaardag Lenie, dis voorwaar ‘n groot mylpaal.

102 jaar jonk!
Freek Pretorius (62), ‘n oud-polisieman in Hartbeespoort, is skielik op 12 September 2021 oorlede. Sy begrafnis vind Donderdag 23 September 2021 om 13:00 vanuit die NG Kerk Krokodilrivier plaas. Freek word deur sy drie kinders, Mariaan Robbertse, Petrie Pretorius en Jenny Swanepoel, asook twee susters, een broer en ses kleinkinders oorleef. Die familie bedank almal vir hul ondersteuning gedurende die donker tyd.

Deceased man found in tavern restroom
BRITS POS- BRITS - A tavern owner in Lethabong section, Maboloka alleged that while cleaning the premises on Sunday morning, 19 September, she found the corpse of a man in the restrooms, lying in a pool of blood.
It is alleged that the victim had been stabbed.
“We can confirm that a case of murder was registered at Letlhabile police station,” says Maria Nkabinde, SAPS spokesperson.
Five suspects were apprehended and appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ court on Tuesday, 21 September 2021, for the alleged murder. They are Johnny Rabotapi (31), Shonisani Ghinisi (23), Isaac Fiane (27), Tsietsi Nyathi (23), and Thomas Malatse (21).

Husband dies in rain of bullets

Be vigilant when taking strangers to test drive your vehicle
BRITS POS – BRITS – When a man advertised that his vehicle was for sale, he was contacted by a potential buyer, asking him to meet him at Letlhabile Mall on Friday, 17 September 2021 around 14:00.
A neighbour joined the owner and they met up with the buyer at the mall, as arranged.
The owner of the vehicle and the ‘buyer’ took the vehicle for a test drive when suddenly a stopped in front of them and blocked the road. Three armed men jumped out of the vehicle and held the owner at gunpoint and pushed him out of his vehicle.
The owner was left on the side of the road and ‘buyer’ with his accomplices sped from the scene in two vehicles sped.
“A case of carjacking was registered at Letlhabile police station subsequent to the incident,” confirmed SAPS spokesperson, Maria Nkabinde “and according to information available at this stage, no one sustained any injuries during the incident.”

LEADS TO MURDER
BRITS P0S – BRITS – Last week Brits Pos reported on an alleged murder of a man in the Khalamtwana informal settlement, Mooinooi on Saturday, 11 September 2021 at about 17:05.
Police found the body of a male lying in the street with multiple stab wounds. He was identified as Saphulelwa Xukiswa Krose, aged 47. Thembiso Hokozani Khuzani (48) handed himself over to the Mooinooi police, shortly after the discovery of the body. The men had an argument and Krose was stabbed twice by Khuzani.
Khuzani appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 13 September 2021, for murder and again on Monday, 20 September 2021. The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena requests the community to resolve their differences peacefully rather than resorting to violence or seek professional assistance from social workers and other professionals.
BRITS POS – BRITS - Allegedly on Thursday, 16 September 2021 around 15:00 a family and a visiting neighbour were inside a house in Itsoseng, Hebron when eight armed men stormed into the room, accusing the husband that he apparently did something wrong, but didn’t say what it was.
One grabbed his child (2) and held the adults at gunpoint, threatening to kill them and then shot the man numerous times and he succumbed to his injuries.
SAPS spokesperson, Maria Nkabinde confirmed
that a case of murder was registered at Hebron police station following the incident. “At this stage, the suspects are still at large,” said Nkabinde.

‘n fondsinsameling ten bate van Meerhofskool gehou.
By Magaliespark kon die vroue terug sit en die modeparade met die voortreflike uitrustings van verskeie ontwerpers geniet. Daar was ook talle uitstallers met interessante produkte, onder andere parfuum, juwele, ontwerpersklere en natuurlik gin!
“Sonder almal se bydrae, sou die geleentheid nie moontlik gewees het nie,” vertel Lyncah opgewonde “en dankie dat julle jul harte oopgemaak het vir die fondsinsameling. Dankie vir my modelskool, Vogue Models Catwalk SA wat my altyd ondersteun.”

‘n ongeluk op die R566 betrokke. Vyf mense met minder ernstige beserings is deur HEMS na ‘n hospitaal in Brits vir verdere behandeling geneem.
Vrydag, 17 September het die bestuurder van
‘n voertuig op die R566 beheer oor die bakkie verloor en dit het van die pad gerol. Een persoon het minder ernstige beserings opgedoen en is deur HEMS na ‘n hospitaal in Brits vervoer.
Saterdag, 18 September het die paramedici van Hartbeespoort Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) by ‘n ‘fly in’ van ligte vliegtuie te Barnardslvei, buite Mooinooi mediese bystanddiens gelewer.

BRITS POS – BRITS - Ter viering van die Suid-Afrikaanse Vroue Landbou- unie (SAVLU) se 90ste bestaansjaar, het die president, Tharina Rossel, ‘n kombersprojek geloods om dié besondere mylpaal te vier.
In samewerking met al die lede van sewe VLU-organisasies is ‘n projek op die been gebring om omgeekombersies te maak, wat dan aan liefdadigheidsorganisasies geskenk gaan word.
Die lede van VLU Britstak het, onder leiding van Neeltje Louw (voorsitter), nie gras onder hulle voete laat groei nie en volstoom hiermee weggespring. ‘n Totaal van 31 kombersies is deur die vroue van Brits gemaak - voorwaar ‘n goeie prestasie aangesien die tak net 43 lede het.
Die bestuur bedank almal wat ‘n bydrae tot hierdie liefdadigheidsprojek gelewer het.
