ren' ynasc> e and I tile cantor.''
THE
above statement was made to a rePfesentatlve of the Ztt>IUatR~cord by Larry Adler, the famous harmonica player, who is now star·
ring at the Empire Theatre.
"I remained cantor," continued Larry, "until I became barmtt~h.
Having then, according to Jewish Law, become a man, "J could no longer conduct the service at the childrens' synagogue."
Larry Adler has arrived in South Africa with his bride. They w re recently married ln England, and his visit here i in the nature ot a honeymoon. Hs wife is a member of a well-known Jewtsh family in Eng- land. When they were in cape Town, Mrs. Adler attended a farewell luncheon given to Mrs. Rosa Ginz- berg, the Zionist emissary, by the women Zionists of the Mother City.
"After leaving South Africa," said Larry, "we are going to .Australia and India, and may go on a visit to Palestine."
"Do you intend to play the harmo- nica there?'' he was asked.
"We are going on a purely private visit aa we are both eager to see Palutine. U, howe.ver, during our stay there. we ahall find OUl'Belvea ln some of the colonies and demand is made for a tune, I would not be surprised if that harmonica slips from my pocket into my mouth," and there was a twinkle ln Larry Adler's eye.
