Kesimpulan

1. Induksi mencit jantan normokolesterol dengan diet hiperkolesterolemik pada kadar lemak diet sebesar 12% selama 30 hari dapat meningkatkan parameter lipid darah yaitu konsentrasi kolesterol total serum, trigliserida, dan LDL. Kompisisi diet hiperkolesterolemik dengan kadar lemak 12% yang diberikan selama 30 hari dapat menyebabkan mencit jantan mengalami hiperkolesterolemia.

2. Suplementasi serat pangan agar (18%), karagenan (46%), dan bekatul (57%) dalam diet hiperkolesterolemik dapat menurunkan bobot badan, konsentrasi kolesterol total serum, trigliserida, LDL, glukosa, dan kolesterol hati mencit jantan hiperkolesterolemia, namun meningkatkan konsentrasi HDL dan kolesterol feses. Serat pangan agar, karagenan, dan bekatul mempunyai peran yang sama dalam memperbaiki parameter lipid darah mencit jantan hiperkolesterolemia. Namun, berdasarkan konsentrasi trigliserida yang lebih rendah, konsentrasi HDL lebih tinggi dan pengeluaran konsentrasi kolesterol feses yang lebih banyak serat pangan karagenan dinilai lebih baik dalam menurunkan lipid darah mencit hiperkolesterolemia.

3. Simvastatin, atorvastatin, dan serat pangan karagenan mempunyai peran yang sama dalam menurunkan profil lipid darah mencit jantan hiperkolesterolemia. Namun, serat pangan karagenan dengan waktu relatif singkat (30 hari) dapat menurunkan konsentrasi kolesterol, trigliserida, LDL, serta meningkatkan konsentrasi HDL lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan simvastatin dan atorvastatin mengindikasikan bahwa serat pangan karagenan berpotensi sebagai sumber serat pangan fungsional penurun kolesterol.

Saran

1. Penelitian dapat dilanjutkan dengan melihat dinamika berbagai sumber serat pangan pada profil lipid darah pada individu yang mengalami hiperkolesterolemia.

2. Penggunaan berbagai sumber serat pangan lainnya dengan waktu pemberian lebih lama.

3. Kadar serat pangan dalam diet dapat ditingkatkan lebih tinggi dari yang sudah dilaksanakan agar lebih terlihat nyata dalam penurunan kolesterol total serumnya.

4. Penggunaan serat pangan agar, karagenan, dan bekatul dapat diaplikasikan dengan dibuat suatu panganan yang menarik sehingga dapat dikonsumsi setiap hari sebagai makanan sehat.
