The following announcement, which appeared in the October 1928 Education Gazette, should be read by anyone intending to attend Teachers' College: In the past, some Melbourne Teachers' College students, before entering, professional sports, especially running. The College teams are governed by amateur rules in several metropolitan associations, and students who have not strictly maintained their amateur status prior to enrolling in the College are therefore prohibited from representing the College in both Saturday games and Interstate teams.

All student teachers who intend to later apply for studentships in the Teachers College are advised not to participate in any form of professional sport, whether at school or while student teachers. Under the rules of the Victorian Amateur Athletics Association any person who applies under any of the following conditions automatically disqualifies himself from all amateur competitions:-. This site has received a lot of attention over the past two years and is recognized as one of the best sites in the V.A.H.A.

In 1940, Ransford Oval was taken over as the home ground, the use of which was shared with Myer's until the competition was interrupted by the war. It is a tribute to the enthusiasm of the College teams that they have done so well in the past under such disadvantages. One shilling is set aside from each sports fee to form a fund from which persons injured while taking part in College sport may claim reimbursement for medical expenses at the end of the year.

Here's to the good old College, where lots and lots of knowledge is crammed into the caverns of our brains. See him fly, through the sky, (so may I when I die), by the light of the silvery moon. Laugh.) Here's to the College ladies, say goodbye. Here's to the ladies of the college, if they keep that kind of thing in Hades, I don't give a damn when I die.

On the court, on the field, in their work, in their sport—. And t, y silver moonlight. Here are the good old jaffles in the barn, t. Here's to the good old yaftles in the barn, What's wrong with that. God bless our College and give the Prime Minister discretion To pay the noblest hand on earth—.

Here's to comrades in all weathers, loyal to all - it keeps us together;. Eleanor Alletta Chaffee (German folk song). To the tune of the policeman's song.) When a student is not engaged in his work. And listen to the merry village bell, (The village bell,) When the coster has finished jumping on his mother, (on . his mother,).

I'll sing you a song about the fish in the sea and we're on our way to the Rio Grande. The oak and the ash and the gnarled birch, 'They all grow green in the Northland. There is where the cotton and the corn and the taters grow, there is where the birds chirp sweetly in the spring.

There is where I worked so hard for old massa, Day after day in the fields of yellow corn. If you know John Peel at break of day, you know John Peel when he is far, far away with his dogs and his horn in the morning. From a find to a check, From a check to a view, From a view to a death in the morning.

Forest and meadow are still, Peace falls on valley and hill, The moon appears in the sky, Holds its lamp high,. All the stalls on the green are as pretty as can be, With trinkets and tokens so pretty to behold, So you've come, girls and men, To the fair in the pride of the morning. Maidens and men, maidens and men, Come to the fair in the morning, Heigh-ho.

In the harbor, on the island, in the Spanish sea, The little white houses and the orange trees, And day long, night long, the cool and pleasant breeze- Of the constant trade winds that blow. There is the red wine, the nutty Spanish ale, the dancers' shuffle and the old salt's tale;. The creaking creak and the hiss of the sail, of the constant trade winds that blow.

And in the ghostly palms, the sleepy melody of the still voice calling me, the long low sound of the steady trade winds blowing. Laugh, fight, and work, and drink the wine poured, On the dear green earth the sign of God's joy. Laugh and rejoice together, like like brothers.

Land of Hope and Glory, Mother of the Free, How shall we praise You who were born of You. As they called a thousand years — now they call to me, They woke me from my dream in the dawn of the. We do not forget you - in the winter weather You man the ditch, or tread the frozen snow;.
