A lo n g tim e ago i n th e bush, an o ld man had fou r w iv e s . He d i d n 't l e t them go h u n tin g by th e m s e lv e s . He was r e a l l y je a lo u s and never l e t any young men come t o h is camp. One day, he t o l d two o f h is w ives t o go and lo o k fo r some bush fo o d and honey. Two young men were h id in g in th e t r e e s . They saw th e young women d ig g in g f o r bush food and ra n and t o o k them away in t o th e bush.

The o ld man fo llo w e d w it h h is sp ea rs. He found th e p la c e where th e two young women had been d ig g in g fo r bush fo o d , bu t he c o u ld n 't fin d t h e i r tra c k s . He .kept g o in g , and th en found t h e i r tra ck s and f o llo w e d them. Then he found a cave where th e y were a l l h id in g . I t was d ark in said and he c o u ld n 't see them. The o ld man thought t o h im s e lf, " I ' l l have t o w a it here w ith my o th e r two w iv e s ." The o ld man t o l d h is w iv e s , wW e 'l l w a it here and th e y m igh t come out when i t s n i g h t . " He clim bed up a tr e e and w a ite d t h e r e . . A f t e r t h a t , he saw a young man come o u t and th e two women were f o l l o w i n g him. The o l d man g o t up s lo w ly and grabbed them. The young man lo o k e d up and ran and t h e y s ta r te d t o f i g h t . The o ld man h it him on th e head and th e young man s a id , "You can have your two w iv e s . " The o l d man -took them back t o h is camp and h i t them because th ey had run away from him.

One d a y , he said t o h is fo u r w iv e s , " W e 'l l go h u n tin g fo r bush food and k a n g a rro ." The o ld man found a kangaroo a s le e p under a shady t r e e , and he sneaked up v e ry c a r e f u l l y u n t il he speared the kan garoo. The four young women went back w ith l o t s o f bush food and goannas.

L a t e r , th e o ld man t o l d two o f h is w ives t o g e t some w a ter from the w a te r h o le . The two young men w ere h id in g in th e g r a s s , and th ey grabbed th e women and th ey a l l ran away a lon g way away so t h a t the o ld man c o u ld n 't fin d them. The o l d man looked around f o r t h e i r tr a c k s but he c o u ld n 't fin d them. They had escaped in t o th e bush.

L a t e r , th e o ld man grew v e r y o ld and d ie d in h is camp. His two rem ain in g w iv e s l e f t , and went t o a n oth er p la ce and found th e o th e r women and men and t h e y stayed w ith them i n th a t p l a c e .
