ABSTRACT
This study is to briefly assess the general hydrodynamics of surface water resources oflhe downstream segments oflhe Tien River network (in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta) under impacts gf the Ba Lai sluice gates via the application of a one-dimensional hydraulic model (HEC- RAS). The considered scenarios in the study include the fully open and fully close sluice in the Ba Lai station. The established model was calibrated and validated: therefore, it can be applicable to examine possible impacts of the boundary conditions changes on the hydrodynamics of the study river network. The developed hydrodynamics model will provide an important base for evaluating surface water resource dynamics in time in the Tien River network. The research results also show that HEC-RAS is capable to simulate the flow dynamics in a complex river network under different scenarios oj boundary conditions (sea level rise, and upstream discharge changes).
