ABSTRAK
Penyakit diabetes melitus (DM) terbagi kepada dua yaitu diabetes mellitus tipe I dan tipe II. Diabetes melitus merupakan salah satu penyakit kronis yang memerlukan penatalaksanaan yang tepat agar dapat mencegah terjadinya komplikasi.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk megetahui tingkat kepatuhan diet pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II rawat jalan di RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan pada tahun 2015.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif yang menggambarkan Tingkat Kepatuhan Diet Pasen Diabetes Melitus Tipe II Rawat Jalan di Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat Haji Adam Malik pada tahun 2015. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan cross sectional (potong lintang).Hasil dari penelitian ini terdapat sebanyak 100 data pada tahun 2015. Mayoritas pasien berada pada kelompok usia 30-60 yaitu sebesar 82.0% dan sisanya berada pada kelompok usia >60 yaitu sebesar 18.0%. Paling banyak berjenis kelamin perempuan yaitu sebesar 55,0% dan diikuti berjenis kelamin laki-laki yaitu sebesar 45.0%. Berdasarkan jenis pekerjaan mayoritas responden berwiraswasta yaitu sebesar 35.0%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar pasien diabetes melitus tipe II di Poli Endokrin RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan mayoritas responden patuh (75,0%) dalam mematuhi jenis makanan, dalam mematuhi jumlah makanan diabetes melitus tipe II mayoritas responden patuh (63,0%), dalam mengikuti jadwal makanan sebagian besar patuh (73,0%).Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa mayoritas responden pada penelitian ini melaksanakan jumlah, jenis, dan jadwal makanan secara patuh sehingga dapat menurunkan angka komplikasi dari penyakit diabetes mellitus tipe II

ABSTRACT
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is divided into diabetes mellitus type-1 and type-2. Diabetes Mellitus is one of the chronic diseases that needs appropriate treatment to avoid complication. The aim of this research is to determine the level of compliance of the diet in patients with diabetes mellitus type II in RSUP Haji Adam Malik Medan year 2015.This research is descriptive research that illustrates the level of compliance in diet of patient with Diabetes Mellitus Type II in RSUP Haji Adam Malik year 2015. This research was conducted with cross sectional approach. There are as many as 100 data that has been collected in 2015. The majority of patients were in the age group of 30-60 is equal to 82.0 % and the rest of it are in the age group of more than 60 that is equal to 18.0 %.Female have the highest number of 55.0% with diabetes mellitus type II and the rest is male with only 45.0% according to this research..Based on the type of job majority of respondents are self-employed with the amount of 35.0 % .The results also showed that the majority of patients with type II diabetes mellitus at Policlinic Endocrine RSUP Haji Adam Malik that complying with type of food is 75.0% respondents .In complying with the amount of food majority of respondents is 63.0 %.In this research patient who follow to the proper food schedule is 73,0% .Based on these results it can be concluded that the majority of respondents in this study carry out, following a good type of food, number of food , and schedule obediently food so as to reduce the complications of diabetes mellitus type II.
