Summary: On the basis of the 2D river dynamic and bed erosion theories, the paper has proposed a new method and software (XOLUTA-OI) to calculate the bed level change due to the impact of a single non- submerged groin. The model can be used as a tool for engineers to select / arrange each groin in planing a river trainning system for navigation purpose.
