DISCONTINUATION OF IMPLEMENTATION OF PRESIDENTIAL INSTRUCTION NO. 5/1997 ON THE SMALLHOLDER SUGARCANE
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
(Presidential Instruction No. 5/1998, dated January 21, 1998)
THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
Considering :
a. that within the framework of implementing Article 6 of Law No. 12/1992 on the system of crop culture, it is deemed necessary to allow a greater role to freedom to choose the kinds of crops they wish to cultivate as well as the relevant methods for crop culture;
b. that in this connection it is deemed necessary to discontinue the implementation of Presidential Instruction No.5/1997 on the smallholder sugarcane development program.
In view of :
1. Article 4 paragraph (1) of the Constitution of 1945;
2. Law No. 12/1992 on the system of crop culture (Statute Book of 1992 No. 46, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3478).
INSTRUCTS :
1. Minister of Agriculture; 2. Minister of Home Affairs;
3. Minister of Cooperatives and Small-scale Business Development; 4. Minister of Finance;
5. Minister of Industry and Trade; 6. Minister of Public Works; 7. Govenor of Bank Indonesia;
8. Head of the Board of Logistic Affairs;
To carry out the following directives :
FIRSTLY :
To discontinue the implementation of Presidential Instruction No. 5/1997 on the smallholder sugarcane development program.
SECONDLY :
This presidential instruction shall come into force as from the date of stipulation.
Stipulated in Jakarta. On January 21, 1998.
