53 The information requires a cited reference number of phase diagram in Figure 1.
88 Please indicate with the reference no of source of the information.
210 May be add the word “zircaloy-4” with as listed in Table 1(”zircaloy-4 as listed in Table 1”) 217-

“Zr(100)…” seems unusual way to indicate the crystal plane. I am suggesting it is better to marking the diffracted peaks with (hkl) symbol in the diffraction pattern of Figure 3. Please discard the graph of “column 3” in Figure 3 to enlarge the remaining photo and graph.
259 “..presented together” with that of the experimental…
369 The SEM micrographs of Figure 7 should be replaced with that of high quality one (at least equal with that shown in Figure 8).
Final comments and recommendations: I found the paper contained results of systematic investigation on the phase identification of zircaloy-4 along with the microstructure changes when a “hydridization” process took place. Hence, the information contained in the manuscript is considered primarily important and useful for future applications of the alloy. However, the evolution of microstructure which discussed by the authors starting from line 356 seems did not supported by adequate results of microstructural observations. Nevertheless, the authors put that speculative analysis as one of the conclusion which I think not acceptable because it could lead to be a misinformation.
My suggestion is that: replace the micrographs of Figure 7 with those of high quality SEM micrographs to indicate the evolution of microstructure after the alloy received hydriding treatments at various temperature.
The introduction is excessively long. Would the authors to make it concise ?
