Job aids of account transition of One Drive for
Desktop
Please follow this job aids only if you are using the One Drive for Desktop.
This job aids explains how to switch your account to the new email address (@c2c.ac.jp) in the OneDrive for Desktop.

01 Click on the OneDrive icon
(blue cloud image) in the lower left corner of the screen.
02 Click [Help and Settings], and then click [Settings].

03 Click [Add Account].
04 Enter your new email
address (@c2c.ac.jp) and click [Sign In].
05 Enter the password for your new email address, and click [Sign In].

You may see the error message below,
“There was a problem connecting to OneDrive. Check your Internet connection, then try again. (Error Code: 0x8004de40) Try again”
The sign-in process may fail and you may get an error screen as shown in the left image.
If this happens, let it sit for 4-5 hours, and then try again from the beginning of the procedure.
If the problem will not be solved, please contact us.

07 Check the location of the
OneDrive sync folder.
(If you want to change it, go to "Change Location" to do so.)
Click [Next].
08 Select the backup folder.
※It is recommended that you uncheck all of the following items: Desktop, Documents, and Photos.
Click [Skip].
09 Click [Next].
10 Click [Next].

11 Click [Next].
12 Click [Later].
13 Click [Open OneDrive folder].
14 Make sure that a folder
named [OneDrive - C2C]
has been added to the left panel.

If you are a faculty member (formerly @ygu.ac.jp), the same existing
OneDrive data is displayed.
[For faculty (@ygu.ac.jp)]
If you are a faculty member your existing OneDrive data will be carried over as is, so you will see the data already in place.

For the staff, the OneDrive data won't be transferred. The folder is shown as empty.
[For staff members]
If you are a staff member, the folder is empty because your existing OneDrive data will not be transferred.
※ After completing this procedure, please follow the OneDrive data migration procedure separately.
17 This completes the account switching procedure for the OneDrive app.
The next step is to rename the folder you signed in with the old account.
18 Click on the left side of the
OneDrive icon (blue cloud image) in the lower left corner of the screen.
19 Make sure that the account shown is the old email address.
20 Click [Unlink this PC].

21 Click [Unlink Account].
22 Click the Start icon in the
lower left corner of the screen, search for and select "Explorer".
23 Make sure that [OneDrive –
学 校 法 人 山 梨 学 院], which was originally in the red frame, disappears from the display.

24 Select [PC] from the left panel, and then click [Local Disk (C:)].
25 Click on the [Users] folder.
26 Click the [Your own ID]
folder.

27 Make sure there is a folder
[OneDrive – 学校法人山梨学 院].
Also, make sure that the icon is not the OneDrive icon (blue cloud image), but a regular folder icon.
If it has a OneDrive icon, it is in the process of syncing with the cloud and is dangerous to make any changes.

28 Rename the folder
[OneDrive – 学校法人山梨学 院] as follows,
[OneDrive – 学校法人山梨学 院_ Access to old account data is prohibited.]
※It is recommended that you leave it for a while for data backup. Please delete it after 6 months or when the migration has converged.
