ABSTRAK
Stroke membunuh hampir 130.000 orang Amerika setiap tahunnya menurut data CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) tahun 2015.

ABSTRACT
Stroke kills almost 130,000 Americans every years based on CDC(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) data in 2015. About all of
stroke cases, 87% are ischemic stroke. Recent study shows that LDL( low density lipoprotein) and uric acid are associated with ischemic stroke. but it is still remain unclear that LDL and uric acid’s role in the mechanism as independent factor for ischemic stroke.
LDL and uric acid levels in stroke ischemic patients that in-hospital treated were analyzed that in RSUP H. Adam Malik, Medan by using the cross sectional methode with 108 total patients of ischemic stroke and non-ischemic stroke.
Of the total 51 patients, it was found that the majority of ischemic stroke patients are female as many as 26 patients (51%) in the age group 60-69 years. There are a significant association between LDL levels with the incidence of ischemic stroke with p value 0,047 ( p< 0,05). However, uric acid and the incidence of stroke ischemic is still can not be considered significant with p value 0,343 ( p> 0,05).
From the results of this study concluded that high levels of LDL contributes to the incidence of ischemic stroke while the levels of uric acid is not an independent factor on the incidence of ischemic stroke
