With regard to the clarification of the status of the staff of the Asian Center as of July 10, 1979, the following policy will be observed: They shall therefore be entitled to the same benefits, privileges and rights as temporary employees of the University. The university will only pay the government share worth 3% of the employee's basic salary realized in January 1980.

A power of attorney has been issued to the President on behalf of faculty members who fall into this category so that they may be given an additional opportunity to qualify and prove their worth. Authority on Admission of Students to Regional Units approved by the Board of Regents on March 24, 1976, applies only to regional units on the semester system. In the approved guidelines, the required conditions for category B students in the Board of Regents approved rule are modified to match the requirements with the quarterly academic calendar at the U.P. College Clark Air Force Base on April 18, 1980, and was favorably acted upon by the President's Committee on Regional Units on August 11, 1980.
